Airports. A place of wonder, awe, and excitement. A place where people from all walks of life come together to board an airplane, to go to sleep in one place and wake up in a new one. However, traveling can often be stressful and uncomfortable. Whilst the flight attendants strive to make the actual flight as comfortable as they can, there are other things you can do for yourself to make the whole experience as easy and stress-free as possible.
Stay
Although staying in Phuket will mean that your journey to the airport won’t be particularly long or arduous, you can never be sure of traffic conditions, weather or any other issues that may hinder you. To make the morning of your flight as stress-free as possible, why not book yourself a hotel near Phuket airport? Have a look at Phuket Mai Khao Beach, where you can relax in the spa, get a great night’s sleep, and have a delicious meal before your flight. Only 15 minutes away from Phuket airport by car, staying in a hotel the night before is a fantastic choice to ensure your international flight begins in an as easy and stress-free way as possible.
Pack
You can, with the majority of airlines (if not all) take hand luggage on board. There are, of course, restrictions as to what you are allowed to include, so check with your airline first, but there are a few items you can pack which will help you feel more comfortable during your flight. Why not take some earphones so you can listen to some music, or use them for in-flight entertainment? You might want to take a small pot of moisturizer for your face, so your skin stays suitably hydrated. How about some boiled sweets, which not only will help tackle the popping ears but can also take away the taste you get in your mouth after a long flight. You could even take a travel toothbrush and toothpaste so before you land you can brush your teeth.
Eat and Drink
Whilst flying, it can be common to reach for crisps, chocolate, and other stodgy food. A lot of this type of food contains salt and fat, and this could leave you feeling lethargic and with no energy. Protein-rich food will fill you up for longer, as opposed to the food often found in airport food outlets. Why not take some homemade hummus or guacamole with veggie sticks for those moments you need a little snack? Making sure you are correctly hydrated is key to a happy and comfortable flight too. Not only will you feel more refreshed during and after your flight, but staying hydrated can also aid in the prevention of some health issues too. These are only a selection of ways in which you can make traveling as easy and stress-free as you can. Remember, always check with your airline as to what they do and do not allow, to save any issues once you arrive at the airport!
